A stunning barbel of 11lb 6oz taken from the first field of our Bransford stretch – the first authenticated double figure fish of the season

This stunning river pike weighing 18lb 14oz was taken using an Ikonix floating minnow lure from the bridge peg, following a fall in river levels after the recent flood. Pike have also been observed in the deeper pegs further upstream on our Bransford waters.

A winter carp of 10lb 8oz which was skilfully landed on light pole tackle, using a single pinkie as bait, from the car park peg during the first winter league match of the New Year.

A perfectly scaled 12lb 8oz common carp, skilfully hooked and landed on pole tackle, which made up the majority of a 13lb catch which was enough to win the match at Grove Farm.

A hard-fighting barbel of 7lb 8oz taken from peg 2 by club secretary Peter Houlding on legered luncheon meat, during a short afternoon session, which also included another barbel of only 4oz on similar tactics!

A 6lb 12oz barbel – the biggest of a 2 barbel catch tempted from peg 1 by club treasurer Dave Hartwell, using turmeric flavoured luncheon meat.

The three largest carp of a four fish haul (13lb 8oz, 12lb, 10lb 6oz and 7lb) totalling 42lb 14oz, caught on ledgered meat and corn by Jack Martin during the first Winter League match of the year held at Grove Farm. Needless to say, Jack won the match!
